(Re-)Connecting with the heart of our research: Te Puni building!

Currently studying building dynamic behavior comparing seismological and engineering desktop models, supported by BRANZ.

Such a special opportunity last week to connect with the heart of the research and visit the Te Puni building! 🏢
This building, instrumented by GeoNet (12 seismic sensors!) since it was completed in 2009, is invaluable for earthquake engineering research.

We will also investigate if/how engineering models informed by seismology can reduce floor amplification uncertainties.

-> Many thanks John Young from GeoNet for taking us in and out of Te Puni.
-> Grateful to BRANZ funded from the Building Research Levy for supporting our research.
-> We acknowledge the New Zealand GeoNet programme and its sponsors NHC, ESNZ, LINZ, NEMA and MBIE for providing data used in this study.
